Our client in Concord was tired of her fireplace: exposed red brick, a light surround that matched nothing, and a wall that collected clutter — cables, toys, and objects with no real home. She asked us for four things: cover the brick, clad the fireplace front in stone, install a new mantel, and build two custom built-in cabinets flanking the fireplace.
O resultado está nas fotos. Revestimos a chaminé inteira com pedra natural, do piso até o teto, seguindo a inclinação da sala — um assentamento peça por peça que mudou completamente a escala e a presença daquela parede. Na frente da lareira, assentamos uma base de quartzo: bonita, resistente ao calor e fácil de limpar, um detalhe importante numa casa com crianças. O mantel e os dois armários embutidos foram feitos sob medida em white oak com acabamento dark walnut stain — armazenamento fechado embaixo, prateleiras abertas em cima. Para fechar, aplicamos uma demão nova de tinta fresca na mesma cor das paredes e do teto, revigorando o ambiente sem mudar a paleta da casa.
The result is in the photos. We clad the entire chimney in natural stone, floor to ceiling, following the slope of the room — a piece-by-piece installation that completely changed the scale and presence of that wall. In front of the fireplace, we laid a quartz hearth: beautiful, heat-resistant, and easy to clean — an important detail in a home with kids. The mantel and both built-in cabinets were custom-built in white oak with a dark walnut stain finish — closed storage below, open shelving above. To finish, we applied a fresh coat of paint in the same color on the walls and ceiling, reviving the whole room without changing the home's palette.

Mais do que estética, o projeto resolveu o uso do dia a dia. Antes, a parede da lareira era um ponto de acúmulo: cabos da TV à mostra, objetos sem lugar, um móvel lateral que não combinava com nada. Agora os embutidos escondem tudo, as prateleiras dão espaço para decoração e fotos de família, e a TV voltou para o lugar dela — centralizada sobre o mantel novo. Natural stone brings texture and depth that brick could never deliver, and every piece was set by hand to follow the sloped ceiling line.
